Community Forum Guidelines

Last updated on 26 October 2025

Our Community Forum is a safe, supportive space for parents and caregivers to share experiences, seek advice, and celebrate the joys (and challenges) of raising children.

To keep our community welcoming and helpful for everyone, please read and follow these guidelines.

Be respectful & kind

  • Treat all members with courtesy, even when you disagree.
  • Personal attacks, insults, or rude remarks will not be tolerated.
  • Assume good intentions – everyone is here to help or learn.
  • No trolling, misleading or deliberately inflammatory behaviour.

Keep it family-friendly

  • Content should be appropriate for all ages.
  • No explicit language, sexual content, or violent imagery.
  • Be considerate of the fact that families come in all shapes, sizes and backgrounds.

Share constructively

  • Offer advice from your own experience, but respect that others may choose different approaches.
  • When sharing medical or safety advice, clarify if it’s from personal experience, a professional source, or a reputable link.
  • We believe in free speech and civil debate, but do not engage in public arguments.
  • No posts that break the law, including hate speech of any kind.

Protect privacy

  • Do not share personal contact details.
  • Avoid posting identifying information.
  • Respect the privacy of children and others.

Stay on topic

  • Discussions should focus on parenting, pregnancy, or topics closely related to family life.
  • If you post off-topic, label it clearly and ensure that it does not break any other guidelines.
  • Off-topic posts may be moved to their own boards to allow the conversation to continue.

No promotions or spam

  • Our forum is a support space for parents, not an advertising platform.
  • Helpful or interesting links to other sites/blogs are welcome, where relevant.
  • Self-promotion, affiliate links, product plugs or adverts are not allowed unless pre-approved by moderators.
  • If you’d like to know more about ads, see our Advertising Policy or Ad Submission form.

Report concerns

  • If you see something that breaks these guidelines, use the report function to contact a moderator.
  • We prefer to let conversations flow and keep intervention to a minimum, but moderators will use their discretion to delete posts or ban users.
  • Moderators will consider the forum guidelines, context, tone, and overall circumstances when making decisions.
  • All moderation decisions are final and should be treated with respect.

Remember: We’re all juggling life as a parent. Patience, empathy and understanding go a long way.

Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Please review it periodically to stay informed.
