We’re thrilled you’d like to share your story, tutorial or insight with our community!
To help make sure your piece is a great fit and maintain the standard of our blog, we have a few simple guidelines.
Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting your piece.
How to submit
- Complete our blog submission form here.
- Provide your blog post content in a Google Doc. See more details in the “Google Docs” section below.
- Include a short author bio (2–4 sentences) with your submission. See more details in the “Author Page” guidelines below.
- Include a featured image for the top of the post. If no image is provided, we will use one of our own.
- Our team will review your submission and reach out if any edits are required before publication.
- If approved, your story will be featured on our blog. We’ll tag you (if you wish) when we share it on our social channels.
Content guidelines
- Keep it real
We welcome real stories that are honest and insightful about family life. - Original work only
Submissions must be your own original work and not previously published online or in print. - No fully AI-generated content
We want to hear your stories, written by you. AI tools may be used for light editing or proofreading, but the core content and ideas must be your own. - Stay relevant
Content should relate to families and parenting (singles or multiples), or closely connected topics such as fertility journeys, birth stories, family travel or cooking/baking. - Maintain respect
Your content should be appropriate for all ages and audiences. Avoid hateful, offensive, or discriminatory language.
Writing standards
- Use clear, conversational language. Write like you’re talking to a fellow parent.
- Organize your post with headings, short paragraphs and lists for easy reading.
- Aim for a length of 500–1,200 words.
- Check your spelling, grammar and punctuation before submitting.
- Avoid excessive jargon or overly technical terms.
- Include references to scientific journals or publications where relevant.
- Your content should be authentic, respectful and supportive of our community.
Author Page
Your Author Page is your public space on our site, where readers can learn more about you and explore all the blog posts you’ve contributed.
- If you don’t already have a Author Page (more info here), one will be created for you when you submit your first blog post.
- Each blog submission must include a short bio that tells readers a little about you (minimum 50 words). This will be displayed on your Author Page.
- Keep in mind that this will be published publicly, so don’t reveal any sensitive information.
- You can upload a photo of yourself. A simple headshot with clear lighting and a neutral background works best.
- You’re welcome to add links to your social media or personal website. The submission form includes 2 dedicated fields for links. If you’d like to include more, simply add them in your bio text.
- You may use a pseudonym (pen name) if you prefer to remain anonymous, as long as it’s not misleading or harmful. Please use your real name in the “Your Details” section of the submission form for administrative purposes.
- If you are a registered member of our community, you will find the link to your Author Page within your Dashboard.
Editorial review
All submissions will go through a light review by our editor, who may suggest small changes for clarity, flow, or style.
- We may adjust formatting, correct minor errors, or add relevant links.
- All links will be screened and any inappropriate ones will be removed.
- The final version of your blog post will only be published with your full approval.
Google Docs
docs.google.com is a free online text editor. It’s a great tool for writing and formatting your content. If you’re not sure where to start, you can use our free template.
Click here to access the template, then at the top left, click “File” and then “Make a copy” to start writing (you need to be logged in to Google for this).
Here’s a screenshot of how that looks:

When your content is ready for publishing, please follow these steps to share it with us:
- Open your blog post in Google Docs.
- In the top right corner, click the blue “Share” button.
- At the bottom of the pop-up window under “General access”, select “Anyone with the link” instead of “Restricted”.
- On the right, click the dropdown that says “Viewer” and change it to “Commenter”.
- Click “Copy link” and paste that link into our submission form.
This is how it should look:

Content rights & ownership
As the author, you retain full ownership of your submitted content. By submitting your story, you grant Twins and Tot Shop non-exclusive rights to publish, edit, and share it across our blog, email, and social platforms. Learn more in the User Contributions section of our Terms and Conditions.
You’re welcome to republish your story elsewhere after it appears on our blog – we just ask that you wait until it’s live on our blog, and ideally, credit us as the original publisher.
If at any time you’d like to update or remove your piece, just reach out, we’re happy to work with you.
Free submission
Submitting and publishing content on our blog is completely free.
We do not charge contributors, and we do not offer payment, royalties, or compensation.
No advertising
Our public blog submission process is intended for authentic storytelling, not advertising.
Publication through this channel does not constitute sponsored content, paid promotion, or endorsement of any individual, brand, product, or service.
Submissions that are primarily advertising, sponsored, or promotional in nature will not be accepted.
This does not apply to the limited use of affiliate links within genuine, experience-led content (see below).
If you are interested in promotional partnerships or advertising opportunities, please refer to our Advertising Policy.
Affiliate links
You may include a small number of relevant affiliate links where they genuinely add value to your story.
Posts must remain experience-led, not promotional. We reserve the right to edit or remove links that feel overly sales-focused or not aligned with our community.
Affiliate link guidelines:
- Max 2–3 affiliate links per blog post
- All links must be relevant and naturally included
- No listicle-style posts primarily built around affiliate links (e.g. “Top 10 Products for Twins”)
- You must include a disclosure such as:
“This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.” - All affiliate links will include the attributes:
rel="nofollow sponsored"

By submitting your story, you confirm that your content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, or other third-party rights, and that your content does not contain illegal, defamatory, harmful, or misleading material.
We may decline or remove content at our discretion if it is later found to breach these guidelines.
