How does the Twin Baby Name Pairing Tool work?

Naming twins can be tricky, so I developed the Twin Baby Name Pairing Tool to help you find the perfect twin baby names. The free tool instantly matches compatible name pairs from a curated database of 2,350+ names. It considers style, syllables, origin, and flow to help pair twin names that feel balanced together.

Click any name from the list and you’ll instantly see a “suggested match”. Once you click a second name, you’ll see one of five results:

✨ Excellent match
💛 Strong match
⚖️ Balanced pairing
⚠️ Might not pair well
❌ Not recommended

You'll also see a score out of 10, as well as a summary. The Tool evaluates several factors when calculating a score, including letters, phonetics, syllables, length, similarity, themes, styles and origins.

There are filters located in the bar above all of the names. You can filter by themes (like modern, classic, vintage, nature, biblical and more), number of syllables, starting letter, gender, and matching style (like rhyming or complementary). This helps you quickly find twin name pairs that match your personal taste.

If you’re not sure where to start, you can click the “inspire me” button to auto-generate a pair of twin names with a score of 8 or above. This is a great way to explore combinations you might not have considered and gather inspiration.

If you’re logged in, you can save individual names, as well as your favourite combinations, to your favourites list to review later. Simply click the star next to a name or name pair to save it. You can also share your favourite combination by clicking the “Share on WhatsApp” link underneath your results.
